Hey, leave some room for the rest of us
4D Sports Driving / Stunts - Jahrescontest 2020

There ist plenty of space left... behind him

Well, there's still a fair amount of time left -- hopefully I won't be alone on the scoreboard for long
By the way, there's something I have been meaning to ask you folks for a while. Over at ZakStunts, we maintain the Competition Archive, a record of all online contests we know of, spanning from the late nineties to the present day (you can find the latest release on the downloads page). Is is okay for me to include your competition in the next edition of the Archive? It would be a very fine addition
(P.S.: If you have a look a the Archive, you'll note that, in addition to tracks, we also include winning replays if they are available. While it would be perfectly okay to include just the tracks, if any of you happen to have kept saved replays from past races I'd be happy to have them too.)

Happy new year, everyone! So after all we got a nice race in the final days, even with a last day fight for position!
Sure, why not.
Thanks! I'll make sure to post this competition's directory of the Archive here as well, around the time of the official release.
Somit brauchen wir noch eine Strecke für Januar, dann wäre das Contest-Jahr durch. FREIWILLIGE VOR
Oka, I volunteer! (I have a track already; I just have to fix a last-minute problem with it before posting...)
-
All right, here is a track for January! The track title is Future Days, and the car is the Porsche 962 IMSA. Before getting to it, lemme just explain what I meant by "last-minute problem" in my post just above...
Back in the day, a few different versions of Stunts were released, and their physics are not completely identical. I usually play with 1991 Stunts, and only now I have noticed that the download link in the first post here is for 1990 4D Driving. Why does that matter? You'll notice there is a high jump in the southern part of the track. Landing from that jump originally involved a much sharper drop; even so, with 1991 Stunts that passage was easily flat out. With 1990 4D Driving, however, the likelihood of crashing against the ground on sharp drops is much higher, making it necessary to brake before the jump, which kind of ruined the flow of the track as a whole. That being so, I softened the landing and resubmitted the track.
(Incidentally, the laps I have driven here were all done with 1991 Stunts, while you all were likely using 1990 4D Driving. While I don't think I really benefited from it -- looking at the maps, there were no sharp drops in the tracks I raced, and AFAIK that's the only performance advantage of 1991 Stunts over 1990 4D Driving -- I won't complain at all if you choose to disqualify me from those three races for using the wrong version of the game.)
Anyway, back to the track: it is relatively short and pretty fast, with only two (or one, depending on how you count them) hard braking points. Hope you'll enjoy it!

Yup, it's the double drop indeed, beckenrand-schwimmer . Another change is that in 1990 4D there is a funny glitch that sometimes happens when you approach a tunnel roof from below (typically after climbing a hill slope); that was fixed in 1991 Stunts.
